Time for a Professionally Fitted Bra?

how to fit your braWant to stand tall and poised? Want to look good and feel comfortable all day long? Well, you can! Finding properly fitting bras is essential in order for this checklist to unfold in a woman’s day. Unfortunately, many women are still wearing bras that are not the right size. Over an extended period of time, this will cause detriment not only to your appearance, but also to your general health. How?

Poor Posture

If you are wearing a bra that is not properly fitted, you can, in fact, spend most of your day slouching over! This happens whether you are on your feet all day or at your desk. This is generally caused by discomfort and potentially weakened back muscles. Over time, slouching may cause spinal and back problems or further complications to pre-existing back issues. Perhaps the weight of your breasts cannot withstand the bra that you are wearing, which could make your breasts weigh heavy in the front of your body forcing you to slouch.

Slouching would not occur in the right size bra. Another factor could be that the straps of your bra are not positioned accurately, because when your straps are properly adjusted, you will be guaranteed to have a balanced, comfortable fit.

Breathing

If you are wearing a band size that is too small, this constricted pressure will be felt around your rib cage which, in turn, could cause you troubled breathing, such as shortness of breath. In order to ensure that your bra is not causing any breathing issues, you may want to take your bra off to see if you are breathing better once it has been removed. If you are breathing better, chances are your bra band was the culprit and you are wearing something way too small for the circumference of your upper torso.

Pain

A bra should not cause you any pain whatsoever. None! Zero! Zilch! But if it is, there are reasons. If you find that your bra is digging into your shoulders or the underwire is poking you underneath your arms or if the bra hooks are digging into your back causing you pain … these are general signs that, again, your bra is fitting way too small. In my opinion, it would be a great idea not to wear these bras again!

Abrasions and Red Marks

If you have any abrasions or redness when taking off your bra, stop wearing that bra immediately! If the underwire is rubbing up against your skin in discomfort, day after day, this could potentially cause you lumps, hyper pigmentation, broken skin, infection and a whole series of other issues that are preventable. If you are left with redness once your bra comes off, your bra is either too small or you may be having an allergic reaction to the fabric. A fool-proof measure, in my books, is that if it doesn’t look good or feel good … chances are, it’s not good!

I always tell my customers that we are not one generic size in a bra, because, technically, we’re not. It is like going into a store to buy jeans or a shirt. Everything fits so differently and so do bras. That is why it is so important to be fitted for your bra.
So, please feel free to get fitted for a bra by a professional. It will only take 15 minutes of your time and then you can spend the rest of your day poised and comfortable. Now, aren’t you worth it?
