We Must Have More Men
24 Collier St
Barrie, ON L4M 1G6
Canada
After an incredible run with several sold-out performances, WE MUST HAVE MORE MEN! Barrie and the Great War returns to bring us the personal accounts of the soldiers from Barrie and Simcoe County who fought in the trenches, at sea, and in the air in the Great War- as well as the wives and children who kept the home fires burning. Our show will allow audiences to connect World War I with stories and people in their own community in a way that is exciting, musical and fun. They will learn about the Grey and Simcoe Foresters, the reserve infantry regiment who laid the foundations of Base Borden, as well as some of the regiment’s heroic deeds on the field of battle.
Audiences will also get the opportunity to see how the lives of women changed, and the impact of recruitment propaganda on the community.
