Bask in the marvel of the Mariposa Folk Festival, still alive and vibrant after 56 years! One of the longest running folk festivals in North America, the Mariposa Folk Festival is beginning its 56th year building on an amazing legacy. Over the folk festival weekend, create your own memories and enjoy the anecdotes of those who have created their memories over the years.
Of the many festivals and events in Ontario, Mariposa is inclusive of the multicultural aspects of the Canadian mosaic and our neighbours, including Francophone, Aboriginal, world music, artisans, dance troupes, and international food vendors. The festival stands for showcasing culture, talent, heritage and community engagement.
The Festival is a three (3) day outdoor event, taking place July 8, 9 & 10, 2016. Our Folk Festival profiles emerging and established folk artists, and attracts audiences of all ages. Profiling over 100 artistic performances by folk artists from across Canada and internationally on 11 stages, programming includes: traditional folk songs, contemporary folk music and stories, folk dancing, crafts for kids and features folk art for sale.
